Linguists who have studied simplified varieties of a given language, such as pidgins or the language of care-givers, have tended to explain similarities in their structure by the fact that they use the same mechanisms of simplification. Bruthiaux tests this idea by looking at the structure of classified ads in American English, using a body of 800 ads from four categories: automobile sales, apartments for rent, help wanted, and personal ads.

Bruthiaux’s thesis is that strict, uniform constraints on space should result in uniformly simple texts, no matter which category they are in, and that any variation would be due to the particular needs of each category. To prove this he describes the linguistic structure of classified ads, and shows that they are characterized by a minimal degree of morphosyntactic elaboration. He then examines aspects of their conventions to highlight the role of pre-patterned and prefabricated segments whose collocational rigidity may force the inclusion of otherwise dispensable items. He finds that there is indeed significant variation across ad categories in terms of morphosyntactic elaboration, and concludes that this is due to a greater or lesser need to be explicit, as well as a greater or lesser anticipation of interaction. Finally, he examines the implications of these findings for the study of linguistic simplification and register variation.

Question by : Where is the nearest horse racing track to Hurricane WV?
I am young, probably not old enough to do horse racing, I dont know. But I’ve searched related questions like this on google and other sites and havnt gotten any good answers even close to my question!!! So, how old do you have to be to be a jockey in horse racing? AND more importantly, where is the nearest horse racing track to hurricane WV?

Mountaineer Racetrack is in Chester WV, close to the PA, border. The other WV track is Charlestown Races in Charles Town, WV. Both tracks are about four to five hours away from you.

In order to work on the track, you have to be at least 16 years old and have a license. Most trainers won’t hire you as a jockey unless you have experience. The best way to get experience is to start as a hot walker and work your way up. Being a jockey takes hard work and dedication. You have to stay physically fit while keeping your weight down to at least 115 lbs. Most jockeys work as exercise riders in the morning (from 5:00 AM – 11:00 AM) then ride in the afternoons, if they are lucky to get a mount. The average jockey doesn’t make much money and it is a very high risk job.

You used the word historical three times, and misspelled it twice. Strange. Better make sure you don’t do that on your actual site or it’ll be hard to take it seriously.

The subject of your site doesn’t matter much. You can have it hosted by any hosting company.

Question by Lisa L: What can a real estate agent and broker require you to sign in a real estate deal?
I am in escrow on some property in which the seller and his real estate agent were not very forthcoming in their disclosure statements. Through a third party I found out some things about the property that are detriments (such as occassional flooding) but I am willing to overlook them and still purchase the property. I have released all my contingencies and we have a close date set.

My real estate agent happened to tell the seller’s real estate agent that we found out some of these things on the property – most importantly about the flooding – and now the selling real estate agent wants me to sign a bunch of documents listing out what I found out as if she had told me about them. I don’t want to do it – it took considerable effort for me to uncover these issues and I have already signed off on contingencies. I don’t think I need to also let her off the hook as if she had disclosed these things to me – she did not. Can the realtor force me to sign these?
I am asking if a real estate agent can legally force me to sign informal and misleading documents in order to progress with the purchase? The seller and I have already signed all legal documents as outlined in our legal contract.

Let her off what hook? If you’re still willing to purchase the property, even after knowing all the things that are wrong with it, where’s the hook? Unless you’re planning on suing one of them after the deal is closed.

If you don’t want to sign them, then don’t sign them but you’re likely to end the sale and possibly lose your earnest money in the process since you’ve already released all your contingencies.

I’m not sure what you are trying to accomplish by not signing them.
